Three Debuts on Channel 8

M Hotel glittered with plenty of stars, stars from MediaCorp's Channel 8 that is, on Sept 17. It was, after all, venue for a press conference to plug Channel 8's 3 new shows, Beautiful People 2, Split Ends on 8 and the drama series Baby Boom. Cast from all 3 shows, including MediaCorp's Ah Ge and Ah Jie [Mandarin for big brother and sister] Li Nanxing and Zoe Tay, appeared in their finery and candid smiles, all ready to dazzle the media.

The producers and scriptwriters at Channel 5 must have thought they created a foolproof sitcom starring 4 men - hunky (Tay Ping Hui), crass (Gurmit Singh), boyish (Soo Kui Jien) and mature (Richard Ng) in comic situations. Somebody please remind them there're already flops such as Happy Belly and Boarding in the annals of bad local TV history.
