Rewind 1 – Till Death Never Do Us Part
Here’s a case of undying love.
Reuters reports that in Evanston, Chicago, a woman in her 90s has been staying with 3 of her dead siblings.
Authorities indicated that the last record of the siblings being seen alive date back to the 1980s, year 2003 and May 2008.
Though none of the names of the deceased have been revealed, the authorities found 2 skeletons and a decomposing body in her house after being notified by a care worker.
Bet they didn’t expect to find these sorts of skeletons in her closet.
Rewind 2 – A Car Without A Driver?
The Telegraph reported that a 9-year-old Japanese boy embarked on a 7.5 mile (about 12 km) drive to visit his grandmother, after learning how to drive from his video games.
After seeing the car parked in front of his home with its keys left in the ignition, the schoolboy drove the car down central Japan, got lost after 1.8 miles and stopped to ask for directions.
Informed by bystanders about a moving car without a driver, the police investigated and found the boy’s vehicle properly parked at a convenience store.
Maybe it’s time to ditch those expensive driving lessons and just introduce gaming in all schools?
Rewind 3 – Free Funeral Up For Grabs!
Don’t you just hate redundant and useless freebies? Well this giveaway is literally to die for!
The Truly Odd Planet published a report saying that the top prize at a lucky draw held in south Italy was a free funeral.
Il Corriere del Mezzogiorno reported that the winner of the prize qualifies for a “free lined coffin, a tombstone, copper candlesticks and a grave site”.
What makes this prize most heavenly is its flexibility. Being transferable, the prize can be given away as a present and, naturally, has no stipulated DEADLINE.
Rewind 4 – The Gum Wrapper Dollar
With the worsening US economy, has a new form of currency been introduced into the market?
The Associated Press revealed that a 28-year-old man in Lawton, Oklahoma, tried to pay his bar bill with gum wrappers.
The police reported that after the man’s credit card was declined upon payment, he tried to pay in gum wrappers. The man was taken into custody after assaulting the police.
Guess he couldn’t take having his bubble burst.
Rewind 5 – Spider-Sham?
Japan Today reported that 2 youths wore Spider-Man masks to rob at least 2 people on the same day.
The pair of doppelgangers assaulted a 62-year-old man and a 23-year-old student, stealing 2,000 yen with a wooden sword and a stun gun in Sakai City and Osaka respectively.
After arresting the culprits, the police indicated that there was reason to believe that they were involved in 6 other cases in the same day.
Looks like the Spider-Shams figured on a crime spree, instead of a crime-fighting one, and got themselves tangled in their own web.
